About our Company and Team

TARS Trucking, Inc. is a local family-owned Pittsburgh Trucking Company, specializing in shipping big loads (Steel!) all over the Steel City and surrounding region.

TARS was founded in 2016 by two brothers, Mark and Daniel Mazur. As President and Vice President of a Pittsburgh Steel Service Center (VAP Steel), they recognized the need and value of establishing a trucking company to handle the high volume of steel shipments coming in and out of their East Pittsburgh plant. This ability to leverage the services of a trucking company operating side-by-side with VAP Steel was a win-win for both companies: VAP Steel was able to provide a major freight advantage for customers shipping steel all over the local Pennsylvania region; and TARS Trucking was able to hit the ground running with a guaranteed customer base and high demand for their freight services.

Under Mark’s direction, our trucking and logistics services have continued to grow. In 2020, Jill Regets (Chief Financial Officer of VAP Steel) stepped in to help manage TARS, assuming majority ownership in 2021, working with our Logistics Team to make TARS a success, and a great place to work. As a small family-owned business, we treat every driver and employee like family too. We take care of our people, and take pride in our drivers, the services we offer, and the company we have built together.
